Interviews

Q&A with BforBookReviews

Do you always take a book/e-reader wherever you go?

Yes! I can’t be one of those people caught out there without something to read!

In the event that I forget whatever tangible book I’m reading at the time, my phone does have the kindle downloaded in case of an emergency!

Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?

Honestly, it wouldn’t matter, just make sure my character is badass!

Where can I find you when you are reading?

In my head, I’m on the beach! But in reality I’m usually cuddled in my papasan or somewhere sitting in the sun.

Where can I find you when you are not writing/reading?

Walking my dogs. Outside losing in a game of tennis to my wife. In front of the TV watching basketball or football with a cold drink in my hand.

Can you walk past a bookstore without going inside?

That is rare! Ha!

What are you most proud of?

Publishing my first novella has made me extremely proud! It is a dream come true.

What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?

Wow! I can’t believe I did that shit! I really stuck with this crazy dream of mine. Just wow!

What piece of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Never. Give. Up. No matter how long it takes you. No matter how many breaks you take in between writing. No matter what anyone tells you about writing. Never quit. Publish that story. If you’re the only person to read it, so what? You’ve accomplished your dreams. The good news? You won’t be the only person to read it!

Who would you like/have liked to interview?

Easy question. Hands down, Toni Morrison. One of the greatest writers to ever put pencil to paper. She is phenomenal!

When and where do you prefer to write?

I prefer to write early in the morning or late at night. I can write just about anywhere. But, preferably, in front of a window.
